i\u2019m very happy to introduce the cft\u2019s newest assistant director, nancy chick, to the vanderbilt community.\u00a0 nancy comes to us from the university of wisconsin-barron county, where she was a professor of english and taught face-to-face and online courses in english and women\u2019s studies.\u00a0 prior to her arrival at the cft, nancy was also co-director of the university of wisconsin system\u2019s wisconsin teaching fellows and scholars program and director of the university of wisconsin college\u2019s virtual teaching and learning center.\u00a0 in those capacities, she\u2019s worked with a wide variety of faculty in their roles as teachers and teacher-scholars.<\/p>\n

nancy is also co-editor of two books on teaching, exploring signature pedagogies<\/span><\/em> and exploring more signature pedagogies<\/span><\/em>, the latter just published last month.\u00a0 she\u2019s also the founding co-editor of the forthcoming journal of the international society for the scholarship of teaching and learning (issotl). see below for information on how nancy will be sharing her expertise in the scholarship of teaching and learning with the vanderbilt community this semester.<\/p>\n

nancy will serve as the cft\u2019s liaison to most humanities departments in the college of arts & science, as well as to the blair school of music, the divinity school, and various centers and units across campus.\u00a0 she\u2019s supervising our graduate teaching fellows (gtfs) this spring, and overseeing our recruitment efforts for next year\u2019s gtfs and teaching affiliates.<\/p>\n
