$\"\"$ <\/span>on monday, march 22, nearly two dozen vanderbilt faculty and graduate student instructors gathered at the cft for experiential workshop sessions on “performance pedagogy,” an approach that develops creative thinking and deep understanding through active performance in both teachers and students.\u00a0 these sessions, offered by visiting faculty from the creativity and performance in teaching and learning (capital) centre<\/a> at the university of warwick, were co-sponsored by the department of english.<\/p>\n

the capital centre, a partnership between the university of warwick and the royal shakespeare company, was established as <\/strong>one of several centres for excellence in teaching and learning supported by the higher education funding council england.\u00a0 the project brings performance techniques to bear in academic classrooms with the aim of enhancing curricula through an emphasis on embodied knowledge and active learning.<\/p>\n

community, creativity, and diversity have been significant factors in their interdisciplinary success at warwick, including collaborations with departments as varied as chemistry, medicine, philosophy, business, cultural policy studies, history, biology, english, learning and development, and law.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
