href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/susanadams\/2013\/01\/03\/the-least-stressful-jobs-of-2013\/\" target=\"_blank\">forbes<\/a> declared <strong>university professor the least stressful job of the year <\/strong>(adams).\u00a0 the response was so strong that the writer issued a corrective <a href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/susanadams\/2013\/01\/03\/the-least-stressful-jobs-of-2013\/\" target=\"_blank\">addendum<\/a>, and the magazine published a variety of rebuttals explaining the stresses of this seemingly cushy job (c.f., <a href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/davidkroll\/2013\/01\/05\/top-10-reasons-being-a-university-professor-is-a-stressful-job\/\" target=\"_blank\">kroll<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/emilywillingham\/2013\/01\/06\/do-college-professors-have-less-stress\/\" target=\"_blank\">willingham<\/a>). in the wake of this controversy and resulting reality checks, faculty working conditions have changed dramatically. <strong>reforms have swept across campuses, public awareness has shifted to elevate all educators above even the most beloved professional athletes, and politicians no longer describe them with scorn.* <\/strong>the  2014 least stressful jobs list has just come out,** and university  professor has again made the list\u2013but this time, rightfully so.\u00a0 it\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.forbes.com\/pictures\/mkl45edige\/4-university-professor\/\" target=\"_blank\">#4 on forbes\u2018s list<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.careercast.com\/slide\/best-jobs-2014-2-university-professor-tenured\" target=\"_blank\">#2 on careercast\u2019s best jobs of 2014<\/a>. we clearly have more work to do, but let\u2019s celebrate the reforms of the last year that led to this well-deserved recognition.\u00a0<strong><strong> <\/strong><\/strong><em><strong><em><strong> <a
