this workshop will provide vanderbilt faculty with a comprehensive understanding of how to build a teaching dossier for reappointment and tenure review effectively. participants will learn about the purpose and components of a teaching dossier and strategies for crafting a compelling teaching philosophy, addressing student evaluations, and showcasing evidence of teaching effectiveness. key topics include the purpose and role of a teaching dossier, the vanderbilt faculty manual's standards for teaching effectiveness and promotion, essential elements of a teaching dossier, best practices for reflecting on and articulating your teaching approach and goals, strategies for addressing student evaluations and demonstrating continuous improvement, and identifying and including diverse evidence of teaching effectiveness beyond student ratings. by the end of this workshop, participants will be able to explain the importance of a teaching dossier, identify the key components and effectively structure them, thoughtfully engage with student evaluations, and compile a comprehensive set of evidence to showcase their teaching effectiveness and contributions.
