in this episode, cft director, derek bruff, attends the vanderbilt undergraduate summer research program poster session where he talks with liz deangelo, a junior in the college of arts and sciences. deangelo describes her summer research project where she spent a month in england studying rare 17th century texts to research accidental poisonings by cantharides, more commonly known as spanish fly.
