posted by on thursday, december 30, 2010 in events.

our colleagues down the street at belmont university are hosting their 5th annual january teaching center symposium on monday, january 10th, just before classes start for vanderbilt. the theme of the event is “creativity and invention in teaching.” the belmont teaching center director, merrie king, has extended an invitation to interested vanderbilt faculty and graduate students to participate:

“creativity is a central source of meaning in our lives. . .most of the things that are interesting, important, and human are the results of creativity . . .when we are involved in it, we feel that we are living more fully than during the rest of life. . .creativity also leaves an outcome that adds to the richness and complexity of the future.” –mihaly csikszentmihalyi
