this qualitative study explores how black women in senior leadership positions in 4-year public universities in the united states speak about the experiences and characteristics that contribute to their academic achievements, career advancement, and success.<\/p>\n

this study\u2019s findings provide insight into the research participants\u2019 family, community, and school support systems and how they navigated the challenges they encountered on their educational and career journeys. the study also reveals that the black women\u2019s transcendence of racial, gender, and class discriminations became the impetus for developing a leadership style focused on students\u2019 success.<\/p>\n
