faculty programs<\/h2>\n

macrogrants<\/a>\u00a0(deadline april 28)<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

vu faculty and staff<\/strong> may apply for\u00a0a seed-funding program to promote development and research in digital learning. the goal of this program is to jump start innovative projects that may otherwise not be undertaken, such as online closed seminars or digital learning workshops. ideally, these projects will continue to grow beyond the initial seed-funding period. vidl invites proposals for projects ranging from $1,000 to $10,000. \u00a0applications are accepted twice yearly for mid-april and mid-october decisions.<\/p>\n

faculty working groups<\/a>\u00a0(deadline april 28)<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

vu\u00a0faculty members<\/strong> may apply to organize\u00a0a new series of experimental working groups in digital innovation. these small working groups are designed to provide faculty with the resources for open-ended experimentation with a novel digital tool, pedagogic approach or research avenue.<\/p>\n

microgrants<\/a>\u00a0(accepted anytime)<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

vu faculty and staff<\/strong> may apply for up to $500\u00a0with preference given to requests for the purchase of digital equipment to aid with innovative projects in teaching or research.\u00a0proposals will be accepted on a rolling basis year-round, and decisions on awards will be made once a month by the vidl staff.<\/p>\n

student programs<\/h2>\n

vidl graduate fellows program<\/a>\u00a0(deadline april 21)<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

vidl invites applications for graduate student fellowships for the upcoming academic year. stipends will be $5,500 per academic year (this is intended to reflect a roughly 5-hour commitment weekly).\u00a0graduate fellows of vidl will advance scholarship in digital learning as well as\u00a0learn about the many aspects of creating and evaluating digital learning content.<\/p>\n

student awards<\/a>\u00a0(nominations by april 17)<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

vidl is\u00a0seeking nominations for two student awards: the prize for digital innovation by an\u00a0undergraduate student\u00a0<\/strong>and the prize for digital innovation by a\u00a0graduate or professional student<\/strong>.\u00a0awards will be given for student projects that illustrate innovation in digital learning tied to either research or pedagogy, including research in the digital humanities.<\/p>\n
